hi my name is phunnara you can call me pinn (ปิ๊น) I am an artist currently living in Hua Hin, Thailand I am interested in exploring all kinds of visual and experiential art I love to explore themes of nature and community, markets, public space, playgrounds, childhood, ocean life, dreams, and many more

I made this event because I dreamed of a place and space where everyone can feel safe and free to make art or express themself in any way they want. because our town needs a space where people can just hang out. I called it fairy picnic

I invited all my friends and strangers who make any kind of art - crafts, painters, musicians, bakers, chefs, barista, from around Hua Hin and beyond on the real day people of all ages and walks of life showed up. the event exceeded all my expectations, the fairy picnic in my dreams became real.

for the stage design I used random furniture and stuff I had laying around and arranged them together with friends the result looks like a scene from a childhood bedroom. and for the decorations and booth tents we used as many recycle material as possible, we bought new things as little as possible. you can see more of under mango tree project on our instagram

I selected and invited shops from around Hua Hin and Phetchburi, it was my first event ever so I was very nervous and excited and did not know what to expect at all. On the real day the vibes were so good that even if some shops did not sell well because it is a tiny event, hopefully it can lead to the growth of more of this kind freedom space in our small town.

this event was born because I really like this space in front of the hotel, there was a patch of grass with a big mango tree in the middle. I imagined it would be so nice to have a small market here, so I started drawing the poster.

during Songkran and holidays in April, I organized a mini arts & crafts market for Sailom Hotel and restaurant guests. The goal was for guests to do some creative activity or buy souvenirs from local artists and craftsman.

in my free time I love to make bracelets and other stuff using beads I collected from all my travels some clay beads that I made, some sea shells, thrifted glass and plastic beads, all seem random, until they are threaded together, and become something new together

and I love hosting this workshop because it is so fun to see people choose their own beads, I teach people the knots to make their bracelet come to life. and it is very fulfilling for me when people realize how easy it is and that they can make their own stuff at home.

my hope for the future is - I can continue to make art freely - create more spaces for people to exist and express themself freely (like in under the mango tree project) - build my own house and grow my own garden so I can rely less on the material world - build better spaces for young people to grow up in

the fairy picnic had all kinds of arts & crafts, workshops, homemade food & drinks, locsl bakeries, coffee shop, secondhand stuff, indie musicians who came to perform for us <3

I wanted to make a space where every kind of people feels welcome to hang out, make art, express themself, or just sit and relax
